Hi, I'm Sharlene
As an artist and connector my work is about more than what you see—it’s about how it makes you feel. I believe a single encounter can shift worlds. I’m here to create spaces, experiences and moments — whether physical, emotional or energetic— that are raw, electric, and give goosebumps… where authenticity thrives.

Connection as an art form
Intimacy Cards
When the world came to a screeching halt during the pandemic, I found myself craving connection more than ever, deeply contemplating intimacy. In those times when six feet felt more like six miles, the Intimacy Cards were born as a tool for rediscovering closeness.Today, the intimacy movement has taken on a life of its own. Launched on Kickstarter in October of 2023, the deck has been backed by over 200 public donors, considered the Best of Berlin by The Berliner Magazine, featured in Totally Dublin, and helped turn hundreds of strangers into friends, at my Beyond the Surface events. The secret formula? 3 types of intimacy, curiosity, vulnerability, authenticity and a splash of play.

Let's Gamify Intimacy
Beyond the surface
Beyond The Surface is a monthly event where we skip the small talk and jump straight to the raw and unadulterated. But we don't stop there. We also experience energetic intimacy and playful physical connections... all with perfect strangers.Since its launch in April of 2024, the event has sold out and captured an international audience. Equipped with a comprehensive facilitator’s training guide and a strong brand identity, the event is built to scale and thrive as a global franchise. My events aren't just a lot of fun— they're a bit of magic, a toolkit, a movement, a key to connection!

“One thing which many people value about Berlin is its anonymity. Walking through the city’s streets, it requires courage to make contact and interact with people...Even more so to dive into a pool of strangers and talk to them about intimate life situations. This setup facilitates just that: It feels like a confessional box, but with "real" people, being just as humble and as vulnerable as you are. Your partners' openness reflects your own and sometimes escalates with each turn of response you take... revealing a complete new viewpoint on your actions, feelings and thoughts.”

Shhhroooms
Much like the mushrooms themselves, Shhhroooms is vibrant, inspiring and ever-evolving.What began as a simple mushroom walk during the COVID pandemic has given life to a multifaceted exploration of fungi through collage art prints, sculptures, wearable art, videos, textile designs and immersive light installations. My art has been featured on the cover of The Mushroom Magazine, and in art exhibits and cultural festivals like Berlin Artweek at Mahalla, Sacred Ground Festival and the Pilzfestspiele in Vienna - Shhhrooms has taken on a life of it's own and will continue to give life to new mediums and collaborations.

Meet The Artist
Raised in a first-generation Taiwanese-American household, my nickname growing up was Sharky.I was the bright-eyed kid who brought people together, always fascinated by the bonds we form and how they shape us. Today not much has changed. One thing that often surprises people about me? I’ve recently turned 50. Yet my inner child continues to embrace her don't know mind and her curiosity sparks a deep connection with the world.By creating meaningful connective experiences for people, I believe I can help offer people what we all crave... more meaningful relationships and authentic connections. By listening to the wisdom of fungi, I realize how important our relationship to nature is as well as to one another.

“Sharlene’s super power has always been connecting people. Wherever she goes, her energy is electric - curating art, places and moments that feel like magic. She has this rare knack to pierces right through the fluff, and into what makes people shine and tick. Her art is a bit of magic, a toolkit, a full-fledged movement!”
